on my recent visit to the uk i all so found out that their is a dedicated web site and monthly booklet just for people on warfarin, with i.n.r issues meetings help lines up dated info on the latest drug race to replace warfarin,ie nazal sprays tongue drops and the new drug paradaxa (dabigatran) which is out in the uk now,,,,not to mention that you can allso get inr test strips for free on script,me having to test every 2 too three days i had to squeeze as much out of them before i rtnd to australia where the government here give you nothing in that field as usuall, they dont care or want to help you if your unable to work, such a shame after you pay thousands in taxes and through no cause of your own your ill with a serious hereditory condition, kind of makes you think about your health and what the government wont do for you if you get a permanent condition,,,no help for any one,so just pray you can stay healthy and work and pay taxes becasue thats all they care about...

Hi Mat,

Was so excited to watch your video tonight and that you have put together an e-book on 'AS'. It's a wonderful idea and wish I had more information in 2005 when I was diagnosed with aeortic stenosis at 38yrs. I would love to buy it, how best can I do this and does any contributions made go to the Heart Foundation for research?
I am 42yrs now, living in NZ, and have been told the condition is moderate to severe and bicuspid (born with it). Would be excited to read your e-book to elevate my apprehensions of future surgery!

Look forward to hear from you,
Mariska

Hi Matt,

After having met you and heard your full story from the proverbial horses mouth I was eager to read your book.

I read it cover-to-cover in a single sitting. I can't imagine what it would be like to go through what you went through, but thanks to your words I now at least have an understanding of what you found frustrating, scary, interesting. Being able to understand this patient perspective is something that I will appreciate for my future practice.

But more than this what I found amazing was the emotion behind your writing!! I could feel myself welling up reading about your relationship with your family during the procedure (I won't say any more here so as to not take anything away from anyone who is yet to read it).

I'd like to conclude by saying that, as someone who knows you from a doctor-patient professional standpoint, if you ever choose to write/make available the rest of your medical saga (there is really no other word for it!) I want my name first on the list to buy it.

Keep in touch,

Ben
